The MINI E will come to the UK in the autumn of 2009, when a number of electric MINIs will be deployed for day-to-day usage in and around a test area, within the South East. Right now, the MINI E is purely an experiment. While a handful of companies have pursued hybrid electric-petrol engines, BMW Group is the first to use the latest generation of lithium-ion technology in an all-electric vehicle.
