The Fiat Punto is a ‘super’ mini in every sense of the word – a compact dynamo that is attractive and highly sought-after. It arrived in the market in 1993 as a replacement for the ageing Fiat Uno, and instantly earned recognition. The Fiat Punto won the accolade of European Car of the Year in 1995 and its clean-cut style and competitive pricing saw it steal a march on well-established rivals such as the Volkswagen Polo and the Vauxhall Corsa. The Fiat Punto was remodelled in 1999 and there was a larger version introduced in 2005 known as the Fiat Grande Punto, along with a third version of the Fiat Punto itself.
